The Australian Transport Council (ATC) is a Ministerial forum for Commonwealth, State and Territory consultations and provides advice to governments on the coordination and integration of all transport and road policy issues at a national level.
The Australian Transport Council today expressed its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Jim Stevenson. The Chair of the ATC, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, on behalf of the ATC expressed his sincere sympathies to Jim's wife and daughters and their families and friends. Mr Stevenson was well known in the transport industry and with transport regulators and transport ministers in Australia, due to his previous role as the Chief Executive of the National Road Transport Commission. Jim Stevenson was well regarded due to his positive influence on the road transport reform process in Australia. He helped to deliver major productivity and safety reforms for the trucking industry in Australia. He will be missed by all. ATC 2 May 2008
